DePauw Suffers Double-Digit Loss to Colorado College

Colorado Springs, Colo.- The DePauw women's lacrosse team suffered its second loss of the season after falling to Colorado College 20-5. The DePauw Tigers drop to 5-2 for the season, while the Colorado College Tigers improve to 5-3.

Colorado College found its offensive stride early and kept its foot on the pedal throughout its matchup against DePauw. In the first quarter, the Colorado College Tigers went on a 4-0 scoring run until Emily Napier put the DePauw Tigers on the board with two minutes left in the first. Colorado College scored nine more goals by the half and led DePauw 13-2. 

In the second half, DePauw found the back of Colorado College's net three more times while giving up seven goals on the other end. Colorado College scored its final goal with just 30 seconds left in regulation, putting them up 20-5, handing the DePauw Tigers their largest deficit so far this season.

Napier led DePauw with three goals, followed by Bridget Driscoll with two. Driscoll and Graesen Campbell each finished the night with an assist. Driscoll led the team in ground balls and draw controls, with seven and four, respectively, while Delana Underwood collected four ground balls and three draw controls.

DePauw secured 13 of the 27 draw controls but was held to 14 for 19 in clear attempts, while Colorado College grabbed 14 draw controls and was 19 for 20 in clear attempts. Colorado College outshot DePauw 33-15 and had a 6-3 edge over the DePauw Tigers in cause turnovers.

In goal, Lydia Hollis faced 31 shots and made 11 saves, while Colorado College's Cassidy Schnaufer made two saves, and Kathryn Mahoney made one save. 

The DePauw Tigers continue their Spring Break matchups on Friday, March 29, at 1 p.m. MDT, where they will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
