Hanover, Ind. - DePauw moved to 5-2 for the best start in program history and matched the program's longest win streak at four with a 17-5 win at Hanover. The Panthers dropped to 3-6.
Hanover opened the scoring 3:18 into the opening quarter, but DePauw scored the next 11 to pull away for the win.
Connor Gibson paced the Tigers with five goals, followed
Jack Flynn with four and
Beckett Tasker with two as nine different DePauw players scored.
Henry White assisted on seven of the goals.
Alex Kleinhelter led the Panthers with three goals, while Colin O'Brien added two and Owen Parker totaled two assists.
Matthew Roman tied the school record with 25 faceoff wins in 26 total faceoffs and broke the program record with 20 ground balls.
Matthew Garrigan paced the squad with three caused turnovers.
Anthony Reinhardt recorded two first-half saves and
Anton Berg stopped five Hanover shots in the second half.
Scott Dues led Hanover with three ground balls and Justin Cutherell had four caused turnovers. Jackson McKeigue totaled 12 saves with Lance Guttormson adding nine and Matthew Hillard one.
The Tigers held a 60-18 edge in shots including 39-12 on goal. DePauw also led in ground balls, 41-19, and committed 20 turnovers to the Panthers' 25.
DePauw opens North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 23, at 3 p.m.
