Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened the 2024 season by scoring just 12 seconds into the campaign on the way to a 23-0 win over visiting Hanover for head coach
Cori Rees' first win. Hanover dropped to 2-4.
The Tigers scored twice in the opening minute and 10 in the first quarter on the way to victory.
Caleigh Claar led the Tigers with four goals, while
Bridget Driscoll,
Emily Napier and
Graesen Campbell each had three.
Marley Heitman totaled four assists with Driscoll adding three for a team-high three points.
Driscoll recorded three ground balls and caused four turnovers, while winning seven draws.
Maggie Little won five draws s the Tigers held a 18-6 advantage.
Marissa Bardo paced Hanover with four ground balls and Abby Mensing caused three turnovers.
Lydia Hollis recorded two saves in recording the shutout, while Emma Williams had 10 for Hanover and Marissa Bardo totaled five.
The Tigers held a 45-2 edge in shots and committed 14 turnovers to the Panthers' 29. DePauw held a 20-10 ground balls edge and the Tigers were successful on 10-of-11 clears with Hanover finishing 2-for-21.
DePauw travels to Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 6, for a 6 p.m. CST contest.
