Tigers Defeat Fightin’ Engineers at Home

Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team stays in the win column after defeating Rose-Hulman 8-1 at home. The Tigers improve to 4-4 for the season, while the Fightin' Engineers drop to 6-4.
 
DePauw took an early 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play, with each court beating its opponent 8-4. On court one, Ryan McCook and Chase Hutchinson defeated Elijah Hadler and Rhian Seneviratne. The Tigers would go up 2-0 after Samuele Pia and Teagen Crow beat Owen Reynolds and Chris Lian on court three. DePauw completed the sweep on court two after Hudson Mosher and Wils Warren defeated Rose-Hulman's Grant Paradowski and Ervin Perkowski.
 
In singles play, the Tigers battled to secure five of the six matches. DePauw's Scott Anderson picked up the Tigers' first singles win after defeating Ervin Perkowski 6-3, 6-2, on court four. On court one, the Fightin' Engineers earned its lone win of the evening after Elijah Hadler beat Samuele Pia 6-3, 6-2. Up 4-1 on court three, Jake Louiselle clinched the win for DePauw after defeating Grant Paradowski 6-0, 6-4. The three remaining victories for the Tigers were stretched out with tiebreakers. Grayson Zylstra beat the Fightin' Engineers' Rhian Seneviratne 6-3, 7-6 (1-0) on court five, and on court two, Ryan McCook defeated Own Reynolds 7-6 (5-0), 6-0. The final victory for the Tigers was on court six when Hudson Mosher beat Rose-Hulman's Chris Lian 6-2, 1-6, 10-4.
