Danville, Ky. - DePauw wrapped up its weekend play in Kentucky with a 2-0 loss at host Centre. The Tigers dropped to 1-2, while the Colonels improved to 8-0.
Centre grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first as Josh Cunningham drew a leadoff walk, stole second and third and later scored on Ben Prather's sacrifice fly.
Evan Weyler doubled with one out in the fourth, moved to third on Aaron Lopez's grounder and scored when Karson Thompson singled.
DePauw had two runners on base in both the second and seventh innings, but left the stranded.
Five different Tigers collected one hit each with
Grady Johnson collecting a double for DePauw's only extra-base hit. Weyler had two of Centre's six hits.
Nate Tencza took the loss as the starting pitcher, while Harrison Cowdrey moved to 2-0 after striking out 14 and walking just one in seven innings. Jack Gerber collected his first save with two innings of scoreless and hitless relief.
DePauw returns to action on March 2-3 with a three-game series at Transylvania.
