Granville, Ohio- The DePauw women's swimming team totaled a program record of 1,313 points and finished in third place at the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. Kenyon won with 2,039.5 points, while Denison finished second with 1,968.5.
Anya Melson finished day four with the top finish for the Tigers, taking fourth place in the 200 back with a time of 2:06.02, while teammates
Cora Gilbert finished in sixth place with a time of 2:07.22,
Madeleine Collier finished in 2:10.45 for ninth, and
Grace Hilton finished in tenth with a time of 2:10.05. In the 1650 free,
Megan Mackenzie swam an 18:02.24 for ninth place, followed by
Grace McKinney in tenth place with a time of 18:07.19, 10 seconds faster than her seed time.
DePauw's remaining five top-ten finishes include
Mckenzie Ortolano's eighth-place finish (1:02.43) and
Mia Hagenauer's tenth place (1:02.90) in the 100 IM. In the 100 free,
Caroline Stowe finished ninth in the 100 free with a time of 53.11, while
Tara Holder came in tenth with a time of 53.74.
Elise Umbach earned the Tigers' tenth individual top-ten finish in the 200 breast after finishing seventh with a time of 2:27.12.
In the day's final event, DePauw would earn its final all-conference finish after Holder,
Libby Ruff,
Claire Sweetwood, and Stowe swam the 400 freestyle relay in 3:31.99 to take third. In total, the Tigers recorded 21 top-20 finishes on the last day of the NCAC Championships, and 12 of those finishes were in the top ten.
DePauw will wrap up its season with swimmers competing on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Kenyon College Fast Chance Meet starting at 12 p.m.
