Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw never trailed and came away with an 83-41 North Coast Athletic Conference win over visiting Wooster. The Tigers improved to 18-7 overall and finished NCAC regular season play at 11-3. Wooster dropped to 6-19 overall and 1-13 in NCAC play.
The win, coupled with Wittenberg's victory at Ohio Wesleyan, gave DePauw an NCAC tri-championship with Wittenberg and Ohio Wesleyan. Through a head-to-head record tiebreaker, DePauw earned the number-one seed in the NCAC Tournament and will host Wooster in a Tuesday quarterfinal game.at 6 p.m.
DePauw held a 14-10 lead after the first quarter and Wooster evened the count early in the second at 16-16 before the Tigers finished the half on a 27-2 run to expand the lead to 43-18 at halftime. The Tigers scored the first eight points of the third period to push the margin to 33 and seal the victory.
Riley Mont paced DePauw with 15 points, while
Ainsley Boras added 11.
Diana Burgher grabbed nine rebounds and
Ava Hassel dished out four assists and had three steals.
Lydia Stullken blocked three shots and Burgher finished with two. Alyssa Chritz led Wooster with 25 points and nine rebounds.
DePauw shot 48.5 percent from the floor to Wooster's 22.6 percent and the Tigers held a 48-31 edge on the boards. The Tigers committed just six turnovers to Wooster's 18.
