Tigers Drop NCAC Contest at Oberlin

Oberlin, Ohio - Host Oberlin held DePauw scoreless over a three-minute stretch late in the game and held on for an 84-76 North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 11-13 overall and 6-9 in the NCAC, while the Yeomen improved to 13-10 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

Oberlin never trailed in the first half and the Yeomen built as much as a 10-point lead before taking a 41-35 advantage into the intermission.

DePauw took its first lead of the game at 49-47 after Reph Stevenson's bucket before Billy Bach pushed the lead to four with a layup. Robert Millard countered with a three and JJ Gray followed with a layup after a DePauw turnover to put Oberlin ahead 52-51. Asaan Snipes-Rea added a three-point play to make it 55-51 with 12:33 left.

The Yeomen eventually stretched the lead to as many as eight at 67-59 before Bach hit two free throws and Caleb Washington knocked down a three to make it 67-64 at the 5:25 mark. Neither team scored until Dimitrije Radusinovic nailed a three with 3:51 remaining. Snipes-Rea followed with a jumper and Anastasis Spyroglou wrapped up the 8-0 stretch with a three-point play. DePauw got no closer than seven the rest of the way.

Stevenson, Bach and Casey Kaelin each scored 12 to lead DePauw, while Washington followed with 11. Bach and Kaelin's point totals were career highs as were Bach's eight rebounds.

Spyroglou paced Oberlin with 21 points and four rebounds, while Radusinovic and Snipes-Rea each scored 11. Snipes-Rea led the Yeomen with 10 rebounds.

The Tigers finish NCAC regular season play on Saturday, Feb.17, with a 3 p.m. home game against Hiram.
