Daytona, Beach, Fla. - DePauw never trailed and moved to 5-4 on the season following a 74-49 win over LeTourneau at the Daytona Beach Shootout. The YellowJackets dropped to 5-8.
Seven Tigers scored in the first period as DePauw built a 19-11 lead. LeTourneau was within four at 28-24 before DePauw closed the half with nine straight to grab a 37-24 halftime advantage.
DePauw shot 72.7 percent in the third and extended the lead to 61-30 before the YellowJackets scored the final eight of the period to close the gap to 61-38. The Tigers opened the final period with a 10-3 stretch to push the margin back to 30.
Moira McGinley led the Tigers with 17 points with
Ava Hassel adding 10.
Olivia Hart paced DePauw with seven rebounds and Hassel dished out five assists.
Future Asevedo led LeTourneau with 15 points and Kylie Weeks followed with 11. Caitlyn Stanley hauled down three rebounds and Maria Espinosa handed out three assists.
The Tigers shot 47.2 percent from the field to LeTourneau's 38.1 percent. DePauw held a 39-20 rebounding edge and committed 23 turnovers with the YellowJackets totaling 28.
DePauw returns to play on Sunday, Dec. 29, when it hosts the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament. The Tigers open with a 2 p.m. game against Adrian with Milwaukee School of Engineering and Capital squaring off at 4 p.m. Complete information is available on the
