Greencastle, Ind. - Five DePauw women's soccer team members were named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) selections, with junior
Jayla Logan taking home the Midfielder of the Year award.
In her third season with the Tigers, junior midfielder
Jayla Logan earned first-team All-NCAC honors and Midfielder of the Year recognition. Logan started in 17 and played in all 20 of the Tigers matches, directing traffic and facilitating scoring opportunities from the midfield. She finished the season with one goal and assist and helped hold DePauw's opponents to just 21 goals. Logan is the third DePauw player named Midfield of the Year and the latest since former teammate
Annalise Grammel earned the award in 2022.
Junior defender
Macy Happe joins Logan as a first-team selection. Happe started in 18 and played in all 20 matches this season. As a defender, she is tied for second on the team in goals scored with four and tallied a game-winner, all while anchoring DePauw's backline.
Sophomore goalie
Aubree Empie was named to the All-NCAC second team for her efforts in goal. Empie started in 17 and played in all 20 matches and finished the season with 59 saves. She allowed just 11 goals and a save percentage of 0.843. Her efforts led the Tigers to their third NCAC tournament title and ninth overall NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.
Rounding out the Tigers' All-NCAC accolades are senior forward
Sydney Calisto and sophomores defender
Eva Lynch and
Sophia Patrey. Calisto, for the second consecutive year, earned third-team All-NCAC honors. She finished the season third on the team with three goals despite suffering a season-ending injury. Lynch was named a third-team All-NCAC honoree after netting one goal and recording two assists for the season as a defender. She, along with Happe and the backline, kept their opponent's shots-on-goal percentage to 0.526 on the season. Patrey joined Calisto and Lynch as a third-team All-NCAC honoree after finishing the regular season with four goals and was tied for first on the team in assists with three, totaling 11 points. Her corner kicks throughout the season created havoc for opponents, and when she wasn't taking a corner she made sure to congest the goalie box to put the Tigers in position to score.
The Tigers head into the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship with an overall record of 12-5-3 and an NCAC record of 4-1-2, earning them the second seed in the NCAC women's soccer tournament. DePauw travels to St. Louis, Mo., to take on Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday, November 16, at 5:30 CST for the tournament's first round.
