Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw men's soccer team shuts out Hiram College at home, beating the Terriers 3-0. The Tigers improved its overall record to 9-3-4 and 3-1-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference competition. The Terriers dropped to 3-10-2 on the season and 0-6-0 in conference play.Â

DePauw took just seven minutes to find themselves on the board in its afternoon matchup with Hiram.
Alek Habecker sent a rainbowed cross over the Terrier defense and found the head of
Matthew Fogo for the Tigers' first goal of the afternoon.

Six minutes later, senior
Emiliano Quintanilla painted the Hiram end line and sent a ball through the middle of the goalie box, where Habecker headed it in for goal number two for the Tigers. Up 2-0 heading into halftime, DePauw had already outshot Hiram 10-3 and secured five corners while giving up just one in their defensive end.

Though the Tigers held possession for most of the game, the second half only produced one more goal for DePauw. In the 73rd minute off a free kick,
Sebastian Leon kicked a rocket of a shot to the top-right corner of the Terriers' net to put the Tigers up 3-0.

DePauw finished the night with a 17-5 shot advantage while holding an 11-1 edge in penalty corners.
Sam Ortner recorded two saves for the day for the Tigers, and the Terriers Tyler Jurgensen recorded six.
