Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw had 26 shots and 20 penalty corners, but Wittenberg came away with a 3-1 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Reavis Stadium. The Tigers dropped to 8-6 overall and 6-2 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
The hosts grabbed the lead at 10:05 as
Alexandra May scored with an assist from
Maggie Volpe. Wittenberg countered early in the second on Maddy Krasnow's score off of Jamie Triolo's assist.
Devyn Groves gave Wittenberg a 2-1 lead on Lucy Ripepi's assist on a corner with 30 seconds remaining in the first half. Katie Webber's unassisted goal at 50:25 wrapped up the scoring.
DePauw held a 26-6 edge in shots including 19-5 in shots on goal. The host Tigers also led in corners, 20-7.
Bella Lauber and
Scarlett Oaks each recorded one save in goal for DePauw, while Caitlin Archdeacon had one for Wittenberg.
DePauw returns to action tomorrow with a 1 p.m. home game with Concordia Wisconsin.
