Tigers Move to 6-1 in NCAC with Win at Wooster

Wooster, Ohio - DePauw moved to 13-5 overall and 6-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 68-43 win at Wooster. The Fighting Scots dropped to 4-12 overall and 0-6 in conference play,.

Wooster jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the opening five minutes, but DePauw closed the quarter on a 10-1 run to take a 14-8 lead. The Tigers then scored the first six points of the second period as Diana Burgher hit two free throws and a basket and Lyla Barr added a layup.

The Fighting Scots closed the gap to seven at 22-15 before the Tigers finished with an 11-3 stretch to take a 33-18 lead at the intermission.

DePauw gradually stretched the third-quarter lead to as many as 23 and then took its largest lead of the contest at 68-38 in the fourth.

Ava Hassel was DePauw's leading scorer with 13 points, while Ainsley Boras grabbed eight rebounds. Burgher and Tori Allen each dished out three assists.

Tatiyana Sturdivant paced Wooster with 14 points with Ella Biondi and Kylie Parsons each hauling down five rebounds. Alyssa Chritz handed out five assists.

DePauw shot 37.5 percent from the field to Wooster's 32.6 percent and the Tigers held a 48-25 rebounding edge which led to a 28-4 advantage in second-chance points.

The Tigers host Kenyon on Wednesday, Jan. 24, in a 6 p.m. contest
