DePauw Overcomes Double-Digit Deficit to Gain NCAC Win

Granville, Ohio - Caleb Washington scored all 21 of his career-high points in the final 13 minutes of the game to lead DePauw to a 65-61 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Denison. The Tigers improved to 10-7 overall and 5-3 in the NCAC, while the Big Red dropped to 10-7 overall and 6-2 in league play.

Denison built an 11-point lead at 31-20 after Ricky Radtke's jumper with 5:24 left in the first half, but DePauw closed the half on an 8-0 as Reph Stevenson and Kyle Lillwitz hit buckets before Stevenson made two free throws and Grant Gohmann scored in the paint to make it 31-28 at the halftime break.

Sam Jacobs' layup with 14:26 left gave DePauw its first lead of the game at 37-35 and the lead traded hands multiple times before Denison took a 46-43 advantage midway through the half.

Over the next six possessions, Washington scored all 16 of DePauw's points in a 16-7 run that gave DePauw a 59-53 advantage with 6:38 left.

Denison eventually evened the score at 61-61 with 3:26 remaining before the teams went scoreless until Camden Brown's layup with 49 seconds left. A Big Red miss was followed by a Ronald Johnson free throw which pushed DePauw's lead to 64-61 with 27 seconds remaining.

The Big Red missed a late three and Washington hit one of two free throws to seal the win.

Washington's 21 came on 7-of-7 shooting from the field including 3-of-3 from 3-point range. Kyle Lillwitz followed with 12 points and Jacobs added 11. Stevenson's 12 rebounds helped the Tigers to a 48-36 rebounding edge.
