Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw shot a season-high 63 percent from the field and all five starters scored in double figures in a 92-87 North Coast Athletic Conference win over Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 9-7 overall and 4-3 in the NCAC, while the Yeomen dropped to 9-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Neither team led by more than four points in an opening half that included eight ties and nine lead changes and DePauw took a 46-42 advantage into the halftime intermission.
DePauw opened the second half with an 8-2 run to take its largest lead of the game at 54-44. Oberlin responded with an 11-2 stretch to cut the lead to one. After the Tigers pushed the lead to seven, Oberlin came back within one at 69-68 midway through the half.Â
The Yeomen gained a three-point advantage at 74-71 after Anastasis Spyroglou's three with 8:01 left before
Grant Niego countered with a trey. The lead then went back-and-forth with Oberlin taking an 85-84Â lead on a pair of free throws by JJ Gray with 1:52 remaining.
Sam Jacobs converted a three-point play on DePauw's next possession and, after a Tigers defensive stop,
Camden Brown buried a three with 50 seconds remaining to push DePauw's lead to 90-85.
An Oberlin miss was followed by Niego's jumper with 11 seconds left which made it 92-87 and sealed the victory.
Reph Stevenson led DePauw with 19 points and seven rebounds and hit all seven field goal tries. Niego followed with 17 points with Jacobs totaling 14. Brown and
Kyle Lillwitz each scored 10. Jacobs, Niego,
Caleb Washington and
Ronald Johnson each finished with four assists.
Gray paced Oberlin with 22 points with Spyroglou following with 14 and Will Bousquette chipping in 13 with a team-high four steals. Yuuki Okubo totaled 12 and Dimitrije Radusinovic finished with 11. Bousquette and Spyrouglou each grabbed four rebounds and Zach Bronson dished out four assists.
 As part of their 63 percent shooting, DePauw knocked down 12-of-24 3-pointers. Oberlin connected on 54.0 percent from the field. DePauw held a 29-22 rebounding edge and committed 13 turnovers to Oberlin's six.
DePauw returns to NCAC play on Wednesday, Jan. 17, with an 8 p.m. game at Denison.
