Gambier, Ohio- The DePauw field hockey team remains undefeated in North Coast Athletic Conference play after beating the Kenyon College Owls 1-0 on the road. The Tigers are 7-3 for the season and 4-0 in conference, while the Owls dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in NCAC play.

Despite a dominant first half where DePauw outshot Kenyon 10-3, the two teams started the second half scoreless. The Tigers would finally find the back of the Owls cage in the 42nd minute of play when
Amy Apfelbaum maneuvered past Kenyon's goalie and scored off a backhand hit.

Up 1-0 with 18 minutes left in regulation, DePauw held off a late onslaught of shots and penalty corners to beat Kenyon and extend its win streak to six.

The Tigers finished the afternoon, outshooting its opponents 18-9; however, the Owls had an edge over DePauw in penalty corners recording seven to the Tigers six.

In the cage for DePauw,
Bella Lauber and
Scarlett Oaks split the two halves, with Lauber tallying one save and Oaks recording five. Kenyon's Megan Lydon spent all 60 minutes in the cage for the Owls, recording 11 saves for the day.

DePauw travels to Washington, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, October 7, to face Washington and Jefferson. The Tigers and the Presidents are set to play at 10 a.m.
