Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw improved to 5-3 on the season and extended its win streak to five with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-23) win over visiting Capital. The Comets dropped to 3-6.
The Tigers never trailed through the opening two sets before battling through a third frame that included nine ties and three lead changes to complete the sweep.
Katie Gansle paced DePauw with 10 of its 37 kills, while Lindsay Rich had 10 of Capital's 29 kills.
Kendall Herrick led the Tigers with 18 assists and Bryn Whitmer topped the Comets with 16.
DePauw recorded eight service aces as
Grace Myers had three and Michaela Recker had three of Capital's five aces.
Myers had a team-high 14 digs, while
Lauren Ridgway and
Ashley Haas each totaled two blocks. Abby Brunner paced Capital with 11 digs and Simone Daniel finished with three blocks.
DePauw travels to Carthage College this weekend and opens play against Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 5 p.m. CDT on Friday.
