Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw field hockey team returned to the win column after shutting out the Earlham College Quakers 3-0 at home. The Tigers improved to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in North Coast Conference play, while the Quakers dropped to 1-4 and 0-1 in NCAC play.

DePauw outshot Earlham 5-0 in the first quarter and tallied two penalty corners while giving up none on the other end. At the seven-minute mark, the Tigers'
Maggie Volpe collected a deflected ball in the circle and found the back of the Quakers' cage to put DePauw up 1-0.

The Tigers' second goal came in the 27th minute when
Jessica Faily rebounded a shot off a penalty corner attempt for her first goal of the season.

In the third quarter, DePauw's
Lilly Harris put away the Tigers' final goal of the evening after yet another penalty corner scramble in front of the Quakers' cage. With a three-goal lead and over 20 minutes left in regulation, the Tigers kept Earlham's offense at bay.

DePauw wrapped the night with 13 corners and nine shots on goal.
Scarlett Oaks and
Bella Lauber split time in the cage, with Lauber tallying two saves. The Quakers' Rachel Alma recorded six saves for the evening.

The Tigers are back on the road and travel to Fond du Lac, Wis., to face Marian (Wis.) on Saturday, September 16, at 12 p.m. CDT.
