Oberlin, Ohio - Oberlin closed DePauw's lead to one in the opening minute of the second half, but the Tigers put together a 10-2 run on the way to a 20-13 win in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener for both schools. DePauw improved to 9-1 with its program-best eighth straight win, while the Yeowomen dropped to 6-5.
The Tigers got off to a quick start with three goals in the first 59 seconds before Oberlin closed the gap to 4-3. DePauw extended the margin to 9-5 but the hosts scored the next three with the Tigers leading at halftime, 10-8.
Oberlin cut the deficit to 10-9 with a goal in the opening 40 seconds of the second half before DePauw scored 10 of the next 12 to seal the win.
Abby Keane led DePauw with five goals, while
Bridget Driscoll,
Emily Napier and
Graesen Campbell each added four.
Bria Randolph paced the squad with three assists. Audrey Koren led Oberlin with three goals and Abbie Patchen had two assists.
Lydia Hollis recorded six saves for DePauw with Oberlin's Janny McCormick stopping 10 shots.
The Tigers held a 39-24 edge in shots and a 21-16 lead in draw controls with Driscoll recording 13. Oberlin led in ground balls, 28-20, as Giuliana Urban led the hosts with five.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 15, with a 1 p.m. NCAC game against Ohio Wesleyan.
