Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw scored a season-high 16 runs including seven in the eighth inning of a 16-6 win at Rose-Hulman. The Tigers improved to 11-19, while the Fightin' Engineers dropped to 17-15.
Rose-Hulman got on the board in the second as Jonathan Oliger's bases loaded walk scored Connor O'Connell and Kade Kline's sacrifice fly plated Caleb Frakes.
DePauw countered in the top of the third as
Drew Straub walked,
Hunter Hrbek singled and
Carter Knoll walked before
Danny Glimco delivered his second grand slam of the season.
Hrbek's double in the fourth scored Sheehan and pushed DePauw's lead to 5-3.
Oliger's single in the fourth brought home Frakes to cut the Tigers' lead to 5-3 and Andy Krajecki hit a two-run homer in the fifth to even the score at 5-5.
DePauw took advantage of two Rose-Hulman errors in the sixth as Hrebek drove in
Louis Florida with a single and
Cameron Macon added a two-run single that scored Hrbek and
Ty Sucher and gave DePauw a 9-5 advantage.
Colter Couillard-Rodak tripled home Blake Deckard in the Rose-Hulman sixth to make it 9-6.
The Tigers put the game away with seven in the eighth starting withÂ
Aidan Howard's two-run single. Florida was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Glimco before Sucher added a two-run double and Hrbek and RBI single.
Carter Knoll's sacrifice fly brought home Sucher.
Hrbek had four of DePauw's 15 hits, while Sheehan added three and Knoll and Sucher followed with two each.Â
Krajecki had two of Rose-Hulman's seven hits.
Jack Miller improved to 1-1 with the relief win, while Zacheus Carr dropped to 3-3.
DePauw travels to Kenyon on Saturday, April 29, for a Noon North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Owls.
