DePauw Takes Third at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet

Terre Haute, Ind.-  The DePauw men's track and field team totaled 128 points, earning the Tigers a third-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet. Greenville took first with 205 points, and in second was host Rose-Hulman with 128.5.
 
DePauw finished the evening with 17 top-five finishers and four first-place winners. Bennett DeCoursey earned a first-place finish in discus after throwing a distance of 46.51m. Over in the 110 hurdles, Daniel Jansen finished in 15.59, edging out Rose-Hulman by a tenth of a second for first place.
 
In the 800-meter run, Matt Rowley tacked on the Tigers' third first-place finish after running it in 1:56.67 and coming in fifth with a time of 1:59.87 teammate Jack Rutstein. Brennan Jensen tallied DePauw's final first-place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:33.51. Max Carroll finished just behind Jensen for second after running the 5000-meter run in 15:40.19, and Max Morgan completed the run in 15:55.26 for fifth place. 
 
In the 1500-meter run, Matt Vennemannn finished second (4:03.69), and Scott Bailey finished third with a time of 4:04.61. The Tigers continued its success in distance events with Henry Streib finishing third in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:01.63), and in the 3000-meter run, Ford Baker earned third with a time of 8:35.84.
 
In the 4x100 relay, Rickey Alsum, Grant Hunt, Colin O'Malley, and Ayo Laleye finished in third at 42.64. Hunt would later finish third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11:02, and in the 200-meter dash, O'Malley took fourth with a time of 22.71
 
Over in field events, Jansen earned third in high jump with a height of 1.95m, and joining Jansen in the top five was Garrett Elkins, who finished fifth with a jump of 1.90m. In pole vault, Dylan Copeland finished fifth with a height of 3.70m.
 
DePauw hits the road on Saturday, April 29, with competitors returning to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Sycamore Open. Over in Oberlin, Ohio, Daniel Jansen will compete in the NCAC Outdoor Trand and Field Combined Events Championships.
