Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored the game's first four goals on the way to a 15-5 North Coast Athletic Conference win over Wabash. The Tigers improved to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC, while the Little Giants dropped to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Collin Kilpatrick scored just 1:33 into the contest before
Eli Federman,
Beckett Tasker and
Jack Flynn each followed with goals to give DePauw a 4-0 lead. Wabash stopped the run late in the first period before the Tigers outscored Wabash 3-1 in the second for a 7-2 halftime lead. The Tigers pushed the lead to 11-3 after three quarters and coasted to the win.
Connor Gibson led DePauw with four goals, while Federman, Kilpatrick and Tasker each added three. Flynn paced the Tigers with four assists. Ethan Stonis had four of Wabash's five goals and Lucas Cunningham chipped in two assists.
DePauw's
Anthony Reinhardt stopped 10 Wabash shots, while Wabash's Braeden Cooper recorded 12 saves.
The Tigers outshot the Little Giants, 48-29, including 27-15 on goal. DePauw also held a 54-33 advantage in ground balls as
Jack Kneisley had 10 for the Tigers and Luka Difilippo paced Wabash with seven. The Tigers won 13 of the 24 faceoffs with
Matthew Roman winning eight and Kneisley five.
DePauw committed 17 turnovers to Wabash's 25.
The Tigers travel to Oberlin on Saturday, April 15, for a 1 p.m. game.
