St. Louis, Mo.- The DePauw men's tennis team dropped to 1-4 for the season after falling to No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis 9-0 on the road.

The WashU Bears took control early, sweeping doubles matches for a 3-0 advantage over the Tigers. On court one, Abhi Ramireddy and Phuc Huynh defeated
Thomas Partridge and
Ryan McCook 8-2, and on court two, Pato Garcia Muriel and Colin Scruggs beat
Cole Metzger and
Hudson Mosher 8-2. Completing the doubles sweep on court three for WashU were Lucas Guy and Henri Ohl, who outlasted
Jake Watson and
Finley Buelte 8-6.

Down 3-0, the Tigers struggled to get an edge on the Bears in singles play. On court one, Partridge fell to Huynh 6-0, 6-1; on court three, WashU's Scruggs beat McCook 6-0, 6-0. In the remaining matches, Jared Phillips beat Buelte 6-0, 7-6 (7-3) on court two, and on court four, the Bears' Eri Kuo defeated
Jake Louiselle 6-3, 6-1. The final two victories for WashU were on court five, where Fakouri beat Metzger 6-2, 6-3, and Scott Yamamoto beat
Grayson Zylstra 6-0, 6-3, on court six.

The Tigers return to Greencastle, Ind., on Wednesday, March 8, to host Hanover College at 6 p.m.
