Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw trailed visiting Transylvania, 4-2, but then rattled off 17 straight goals on the way to a 19-4 victory at Reavis Stadium. The Tigers improved to 2-1, while the Pioneers dropped to 1-2.
The teams exchanged goals in the opening eight minutes before the Pioneers scored three straight to take a 4-2 lead.
Abby Keane scored three goals in a 2:08 stretch early in the second to give the Tigers the lead for good. DePauw tacked on six more for a 10-4 halftime lead and then four in the third for a 14-4 advantage.
Emily Napier paced DePauw with five goals followed by three each from Keane,
Bria Randolph and
Graesen Campbell. Randolph tied the program's single-game record with six assists. Four different Pioneers had one goal each.
Lydia Hollis recorded 13 saves for DePauw with Abi Waldron totaling 13 for Transylvania.
Bridget Driscoll led DePauw with nine draw controls, while
Caleigh Claar caused four turnovers along with six ground balls. Diana Bruder had five draw controls for Transylvania and caused four turnovers, while Charlotte Green had five ground balls and caused six turnovers.
DePauw outshot Transylvania, 40-19, including 32-17 on goal and the Tigers led in ground balls, 23-18.
