Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored the game's first eight goals and coasted to an 18-7 win over Hope at Reavis Stadium. The Tigers improved to 3-1, while the Flying Dutch dropped to 1-3.
The Tigers scored eight times in the opening 12 minutes including four by
Emily Napier and a pair from
Bria Randolph. Hope broke the run with 2:08 left, but Randolph scored with two seconds left in the opening period to extend the DePauw lead to 9-1. The Tigers pushed the lead to 14-2 at halftime and Hope got no closer than 10 the rest of the way.
Graesen Campbell led the Tigers with five goals, while Randolph and Napier each added four.
Olivia Sanchez paced DePauw with three assists. Kerrigan Brown and Ruthie Anderson each scored two for Hope.
Bridget Driscoll led DePauw with five draw controls, four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Sydney LaPrairie paced Hope with six draw controls with Molly Frederickson pacing the team with four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Lydai Hollis totaled three saves in goal for DePauw with Samantha Smith finishing with one in the first half for Hope and Maddie Yakes totaling four in the second half.
The Tigers outshot Hope, 34-11 including a 23-10 edge in shots on goal. DePauw held a 21-10 advantage ground balls with Hope leading in draw controls, 16-10. The Flying Dutch committed 29 turnovers to the Tigers; 14.
DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, March 14, with a 4 p.m. CDT game at Aurora.
