Raleigh, N.C. - In the final day at the Grand Slam Triangle Classic, DePauw lost to #19 Birmingham-Southern, 6-5, and #10 Randolph-Macon, 3-2. The Tigers moved to 3-4 with the losses.
Birmingham-Southern took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the Tigers scored two in the third to take the lead which they held until the Panthers scored three in the sixth. DePauw regained the lead with three in the bottom of the sixth, but Birmingham-Southern scored two in the seventh for the win.
Macey Cox and
Kelsey Bernhard each had two of DePauw's six hits, while Izzy Berkopec led the Panthers with three of their eight hits.
Kandra Butcher dropped to 1-1 with the loss. Hailee Bryan improved to 3-2, while Olivia Trout collected her first save for the 11-3 Panthers.
Randolph-Macon took a 1-0 lead against DePauw but the Tigers scored two in the second. The Yellow Jackets took the lead for good with two in the second.
Lily Jennings had three of DePauw's six hits, while Kayla Davis had two of Randolph-Macon's six hits.
Riley Magoon dropped to 0-1 with Maddy Bates moving to 1-0.
