Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's tennis team stretched its win streak to three after beating Grace College (Ind.) 5-4 at home on senior day. The Tigers improve to 4-9 for the season, while the Lancers fall to 6-8 overall.

Ellen Gardner earned DePauw's lone doubles win on court two after beating Kiersten Martin and Lydia Ruegsegger 8-2. On court one, Grace's Jimena Ramirez and Alejandra Sandoval defeated
Sonal Matta and
Kiley Shaw 8-6. On court three, the Tigers'
Alex Preston and
Valerie Doherty fell to the Lancers' Anna Graves and Jenna Lewis 8-4.

Down 2-1, DePauw quickly regained the lead over Grace with a win on courts two and five. Matta beat Graves 6-1, 6-1 on court two, and Shaw defeated Martin 6-4, 6-2 on court five. The Lancers would tie the match at three after Ruegsegger beat Wilder 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 on court three. On court four, Doherty held off Sandoval, beating her 7-5, 6-2, while on court six,
Franny Werner fell to Lewis 2-6, 6-4, 6-0.

With the two teams knotted at four apiece, the remaining matchup on court one was a marathon of a win for Gardner over Ramirez. The two played for over two hours, with Gardner beating Ramirez 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 to clinch the victory for the Tigers.

DePauw kicks off its series on the road this Tuesday, March 21, against Eastern Illinois University. The Tigers take on the Panthers at 8 p.m. EDT in Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse.
