Adrian, Mich. - DePauw scored seven times in the opening six minutes of the contest against host Adrian and coasted to a 19-1 win over the Bulldogs. The Tigers improved to 5-1 with their fourth straight win, while Adrian dropped to 3-2.
The Tigers needed just 23 seconds before
Abby Keane gave DePauw a 1-0 lead and
Emily Napier followed that 21 seconds later with a score and the guests eventually led 9-0 at the end of the first period. The lead reached 11-0 before Adrian scored, but the Tigers finished with eight unanswered.
Keane paced the Tigers with six goals with
Bridget Driscoll, Napier and
Graesen Campbell each adding three.
Bria Randolph and Driscoll each had three assists in the win. Zoe Weber scored Adrian's lone goal.
Lydia Hollis tallied three saves in goal for DePauw with Megan Steffey totaling 13 for the Bulldogs.
DePauw outshot Adrian, 40-7, and held a 34-31 edge in ground balls. Driscoll led DePauw with eight draw controls, seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Steffey totaled eight ground balls for Adrian with Melaina Springer finishing with eight draw controls.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, March 22, with a 7 p.m. game at St. Mary's (Ind.)
