Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team fell to the Knights of Marian University (Ind.) 6-3 at home. The Tigers dropped to 3-5 for the season, while the Knights improved to 11-7 overall.Â

In doubles play, the Tigers swept the Knights, jumping to a 3-0 lead heading into singles matches.
Cole Metzger and
Hudson Mosher earned DePauw's first win after beating Ashwin Bhat and Jones McNamar 8-5 on court two.
Finley Buelte and
Jake Watson defeated the Knight's Andy Ilett and Jona Henze 8-5 on court three.
Thomas Partridge and
Ryan McCook completed the sweep after beating Marian's Mark Griffin and Shadi Al Tori 8-7 (7-5).

Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Knights dominated singles play, taking down all six matches and ultimately claiming victory over DePauw. Marian's McNamar beat
Grayson Zylstra 6-2,6-2 on court six to get the Knights on the board. Then on court three, Ilett defeated McCook 6-2, 6-4, and Buelte fell to Dimitri Voshchenkov 6-4, 7-5 on court three, knotting the matches up at three apiece.Â

The Knights extended its lead over the Tigers in singles play after Bhat beat
Jake Louiselle 6-4, 6-2 on court four. Over on court one, Griffin defeated Partridge 6-3, 7-6 (6-0), and Henze beat Metzger 6-4, 6-2 on court five for Marian's sixth win of the afternoon.

The Tigers remain in Greencastle for its second matchup of the week on Thursday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. against Rose-Hulman.
