Tasker’s Four Goals Lift the Tigers in Season-Opener Win

Kalamazoo, Mich.: DePauw men's lacrosse recorded its first win of the 2023 season after beating the Kalamazoo College Hornets 8-4 on the road.

Henry White scored the first goal of the season with 10:51 left in the opening quarter. The Tigers' Collin Kilpatrick scored DePauw's second goal after collecting a quick pass from Jack Flynn. Both teams were scoreless in the third quarter; however, with 13:23 left in the fourth quarter, Eli Federman extended the Tigers' lead to 7-2. Kalamazoo answered with its own goal by Jake Asnis with just over 11 minutes to go in regulation. A minute later, the Hornets were within three after Ronin Honda found Logan Gillis to score while a man up.

The Tigers shut the Hornet's late scoring surge in the final ten minutes of play, with Tasker tallying his fourth goal with only 18 seconds left in the game, giving DePauw an 8-4 victory over Kalamazoo.

Tasker led the Tigers with four goals, while Kilpatrick, Federman, Gibson, and White each had one goal.
