Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team came up short in defeating Indiana Wesleyan University in its 5-4 home loss to the Wildcats. The Tigers fall to 0-3 overall, while the Wildcats move to 9-9.

Indiana Wesleyan jumped to a 1-0 lead after Trey Thixton & Isaac Steiner defeated
Thomas Partridge and
Ryan McCook 8-5 on court one. DePauw would bounce back and take a 2-1 lead after
Cole Metzger, and
Hudson Mosher beat the Wildcats' Lennart Bengtsson and Alex Serwatka 8-4 on court two, and on court three,
Jake Watson and
Finley Buelte defeated Ethan Gray and Riley Fuqua 8-6.

Up 2-1 heading into singles, the Tigers were knotted back up after Trey Thixton beat Mosher 6-1, 6-3 on court five. Indiana Wesleyan regained the lead on court four following Ethan Gray's win over Metzger 6-4, 6-2.
Jake Louiselle's 6-0, 7-5 win over the Wildcats' Grant Wayner tied the two teams at three with three more matches still battling.

Unfortunately for DePauw, Indiana Wesleyan's Isaac Steiner beat Partridge 6-3, 6-3 on court one and clinched the win over the Tigers after Lennart Bengtsson beat McCook 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) on court three. Despite DePauw falling 5-3 to Indiana Wesleyan, the day's final match was a hard-fought victory for Buelte, who beat the Wildcats' Alex Serwatka 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.

The Tigers' next match is set for Saturday, March 4, in Naperville, Illinois, where they will face the North Central College Cardinals at 1 p.m. CST.
