Memphis, Tenn. - DePauw moved to 2-2 on the season and completed a weekend sweep at the Rhodes Classic following a 79-70 win over Millsaps. The Majors dropped to 0-5.
In a tight first half, DePauw scored the final six points over the last 3:29 to grab a 35-27 lead at the intermission.
The Tigers then scored the first four of the second half to expand the margin to 13 at 40-27.
Millsaps trimmed the deficit back to five at 50-45 before DePauw went on an 11-2 stretch to take its largest lead of the contest at 61-47. The Majors were no closer than seven the rest of the way.
Reph Stevenson paced DePauw with his first collegiate double-double with career highs of 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Grant Niego and
Camden Brown followed with 14 points each and Niego had a team-high four assists.
Brady Kunka chipped in 11 points which matched his high.
Cameron Lumar led Millsaps with 17 points followed by Rodney Phillips with 14 and Dakota Gasca 10. Nicholas Ughowvwa had seven rebounds and Gasca handed out five assists.
DePauw shot 43.1 percent from the floor to Millsaps 38.0 and the Tigers outscored the Majors from the line, 26-8. The Tigers also held a 46-36 edge on the boards.
The Tigers travel to Berea on Wednesday, Nov. 22, for a 5 p.m. game.
