Hiram, Ohio- The DePauw women's soccer team kicked off its North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 road victory over the Hiram College Terriers. DePauw improves to 8-2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Hiram drops to 4-5-2 for the season and 0-1 in NCAC play.

In its first NCAC matchup of the season and its first game since its senior day victory, the Tigers quickly pressured the Terrier's defense, earning two corner kicks in the opening minute of play. DePauw's aggressive attacking eventually paid off in the 29th minute when

The Terriers managed to fend off DePauw for the remainder of the first half and into the second until the Tigers capitalized on a scramble following a corner attempt in the 71st minute. This time,
Sophia Patrey gathered a ball from
Macy Miller for her first collegiate goal. Up 2-0 DePauw kept play in its attacking third, and in the 77th minute,
Peyton Howard earned her first collegiate goal to extend the Tigers lead to three.

The Tigers outshot the Terriers 18-7 for the afternoon and earned five corner attempts while giving up just one corner each half to Hiram.
Aubree Empie played the full 90 minutes in goal for DePauw, tallying two saves for the afternoon, while Skyler Huda finished with eight saves for the Terriers.

DePauw returns to Greencastle, Ind., on Wednesday, October 11, to host Denison University at 7 p.m.
