Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Fall to Battling Bishops 4-2 on the Road

Delaware, Ohio- The DePauw men's soccer team fell to Ohio Wesleyan 4-2 on the road. The Tigers drop to 6-6-4 for the season and 2-2-3 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while the Battling Bishops improve to 12-3-1 overall to 6-1 in conference play.

The Tigers scored first in the 9th minute of play when AJ Hockstok's corner kick found the head of Ethan Webster, who redirected the ball to Lalo Castellanos for DePauw's first goal of the game.

Momentum unfortunately shifted for the Tigers after the 19th minute when Christopher Guerra scored back-to-back goals to put Ohio Wesleyan up 2-1 with over 20 minutes left in the first half. Guerra would have a hand in the Battling Bishops' third goal of the night when he found Franklin Rodriguez, giving Ohio Wesleyan a two-goal advantage heading into the second half.

The Battling Bishops' final goal of the night came in the 72nd minute off a penalty kick by Landon Kuhn. However, DePauw would answer with a penalty kick goal of its own by Sam Thiel in the 78th minute to cut Ohio Wesleyan's lead in half, but would ultimately run out of time to find its equalizing goals.

The Tigers were edged out in both shots and corner kick attempts, with the Battling Bishops outshooting DePauw 25-7 and earning four corner kicks while giving up just three on the other end.
In goal for DePauw, Alexander Lundin finished the night with five saves, while Ohio Wesleyan's Mason Taylor tallied two.

DePauw returns to Greencastle, Ind., on Saturday, October 28, for senior night. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. following the women's matchup at 3 p.m.
