Springfield, Ohio - DePauw suffered its first North Coast Athletic Conference loss of the season after dropping a 3-2 contest at Wittenberg. The visiting Tigers dropped to 8-3-4 overall and 1-1-2 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg improved to 4-6-5 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play.
Wittenberg's Alex Hill put the hosts on the board in the 10th minute with an assist from Ava Otey before
Peyton Howard evened the count at 25:16.
The host Tigers grabbed the lead less than three minutes before halftime as Emma Lindsey scored with an assist from Brooke Mullis.
Wittenberg extended the lead to 3-1 just after the intermission as Grace Koperna scored. The two-goal advantage held until the 85th minute when
Macy Happe struck a free kick from outside the left side of the box which found the upper right corner of the goal.
DePauw outshot Wittenberg, 18-11, including 15-4 on goal. The guests also held a 5-2 edge in corners.
Aubree Empie recorded one save in goal for the Tigers, while Lily Winkle totaled 13 for Wittenberg.
DePauw hosts Kenyon on Saturday, Oct. 21, in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
