Greencastle, Ind. - Led by a pair of career-high scoring efforts, DePauw moved to 9-7 overall and 4-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following an 82-54 win over Kenyon. The Owls dropped to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in the NCAC.
A back-and-forth first period ended with DePauw scoring the final nine points on a
Moira McGinley 3-pointer and three-straight buckets from
Mya Shannon for a 22-15 lead. The Tigers carried the momentum into the second as Shannon and Riley scored to push the lead to 11. After the Owls trimmed the margin back to eight, DePauw closed the half on a 17-1 run to grab a 45-21 halftime lead. DePauw led by as many as 36 early in the fourth.
McGinley scored a career-high 20 points, while Shannon added 14.
CC Condra also netted a career-best with 13 and
Riley Mont followed with her second double-double of the week with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Katie Orefice led Kenyon with 13 points and four assists, while Alyssa Gest added 12 points. Anissa Hardy hauled down eight rebounds.
The Tigers topped the 50 percent field goal shooting plateau for the first time this season after shooting 53.7 percent. They also knocked in 7-of-15 3-pointers. The Owls shot 35.7 percent from the floor and were 7-of-19 from beyond the arc. DePauw committed 12 turnovers to Kenyon's 13.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 18, when it hosts Oberlin in a 6 p.m. NCAC game.
