Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw split its Saturday matches to earn a 2-2 record on the opening weekend at the DePauw Tigers Invitational. The Tigers opened with a 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-9) win over Concordia Chicago before Albion topped DePauw 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-18).
In the win over Concordia,
Katie Gansle led the way with 13 kills and 12 digs, while
Ashley Haas,
Olivia Karwin and
Grace Myers each had two of the Tigers' nine aces.
Lauren Ridgway and
Ashley Haas had six block assists apiece.
Concordia's Grace Heywood had 16 kills with Julia Beers leading with 20 digs. Heywood had five of the team's 14 aces.
Gansle had seven of DePauw's 20 kills in the Albion match with
Grace Myers adding nine digs. Chloe Webber paced the Britons with 11 kills and Courtney Companion had 12 digs. Albion hit .378 for the match and held a 41-20 edge in kills.
DePauw hosts Franklin on Tuesday, September 6, at 7 p.m.
