Wally Renie's 7-yard touchdown run with 4:06 left capped a nine-play, 80-yard drive and lifted DePauw to a 17-14 win over visiting Rose-Hulman in the Nick Mourouzis Memorial Game.
Neither team scored in the first quarter but, early in the second, DePauw drove to the Fightin' Engineers' 3-yard line before being stopped.
Joseph Sullivan's 23-yard field goal was blocked by Cameron Dorsey who then recovered it and returned it to the Rose-Hulman 35.
The squads exchanged punts for most of the second until Sullivan booted a 33-yard field goal with 53 seconds left in the half. On the ensuing series, Rose-Hulman converted a third-and-eight from near midfield and two plays later from the DePauw 37 Miguel Robertson tossed a ball to the end zone and into the hands of Adam Tice Saliu for a score as time expired. Kyle Rehberg booted the point-after to give the Engineers a 7-3 lead at the half.
Rose-Hulman needed just three plays at the start of the third quarter to push the lead to 14-3 as Robertson teamed with Daniel Huery for a 73-yard scoring play.

Jack Drake missed a 49-yard field goal attempt, but a defensive stop gave the Tigers the ball at their own 18.
Gus Baumgartner and Renie exchanged carries to advance the ball into Rose-Hulman territory and a personal foul penalty gave DePauw the ball at the Engineers' 31. On the next play, Renie completed a deep scoring pass to
Trey Shaw to cut the lead to 14-10 with 6:09 left in the third.
Rose-Hulman looked to extend the lead in the fourth, but Rehberg's 30-yard field goal was off the mark.
The Tigers took over on their own 20 with Baumgartner carrying twice for a total of 14 yards. Three plays later and faced with a third-and-nine from the DePauw 45, Renie carried for 10 yards and a first down and then teamed with Shaw for a 43-yard gain to the Rose-Hulman 12. After two runs netted five yards, Renie put the Tigers ahead with his scoring run. DePauw's
Dane Young picked off Robertson at the DePauw 34, on the third play of the Rose-Hulman drive, and sealed the win.
DePauw outgained the Engineers, 401-299 including a 271-53 edge on the ground. Baumgartner rushed for a game-high 124 yards with Renie chipping in 106.Grant Ripperda paced Rose-Hulman with 48 rushing yards.
Renie completed 10-of-24 passes for 130 yards, while Robertson finished with 246 passing yards on 15-of-28 passing.Â
Shaw caught four passes for 87 yards, while Huery hauled in eight for 148 yards.
Brevon Gude paced DePauw's defense with seven tackles. while
Jonathan Bruder led with three pass breakups. Kyzer Bowen led the Engineers with 14 tackles.
DePauw travels to Anderson on Saturday, September 10, for a 6 p.m. game.
