Granville, Ohio- The DePauw University field hockey team fell to the Denison University Big Red 1-0 on the road, moving to 3-4 for the season.
Â
The Tigers and Big Red battled for position in the scoreless first half of play, with Denison tallying two shots to DePauw's one.
Â
Five minutes into the third period, the Big Red capitalized on a penalty corner goal by Madeleine Hunt, who gathered a pass by Abigail Hano, putting the Big Red on the board with just under 20 minutes left in the second half.
Â
Unfortunately for the Tigers, Denison's defense stifled DePauw's offensive attacks, holding them to just two shots throughout the game.
Â
DePauw returns home on Friday, September 30, and faces Marian (Wis.) in its final non-conference matchup before North Coast Athletic Conference play. The match between the Tigers and the Sabres is set to start at 5 pm EDT.
