Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's soccer team came back from behind to finish a 1-1 draw against Millikin at home.
After a scoreless first half, the Tigers and Big Blue fought to be first on the scoreboard. Despite outshooting Millikin 7 to 3 in the first half, DePauw struggled to remain deep in the Big Blues' defensive end.
In the 52nd minute of play, Millikin found an opening in DePauw's backline, where Big Blue's Max Arvizu found Seth Crull, who then scored to put Millikin up 1-0.
Throughout the final 20 minutes of regulation, the Tigers had multiple looks on goal and got another chance at a set play in the 85th minute after
Jack Powers drew a foul outside the box. Stepping up for the free kick
Sam Thiel sent the ball past the line of defenders and the goalie into the bottom right of the Big Blue's net to tie the game at one.
Millikin would have one more look at goal just before the end of regulation but ultimately didn't have enough to pull away from the Tigers.
Alexander Lundin finished the day with two saves, while the Big Blue's Felix Malm tallied five for the afternoon.
DePauw moves to 3-2-2 for the season and travels to Danville, Kentucky, to face the Centre College Colonels on Sunday, September 18, at 3 p.m.
