Greencastle, Ind.: In its final home match, the DePauw women's tennis team swept Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 9-0, improving to 6-12 overall, while the Fightin' Engineers dropped to 3-7.
Taking control of doubles play early, the Tigers quickly took a 1-0 lead when Kate Stanley and Kiley Shaw beat Krista Manche and Gwyneth Kibbey 8-0 at number three. Kat Wilder and Ellen Gardner defeated Taylor Goldman and Ruby Kauffman 8-2 at number one, followed by Lindsay Parks and Alex Preston beating Wynne Aldrich and Ella Dorfmueller 6-4 at number two to complete the doubles sweep.
Kat Wilder put the Tigers up by four in singles play after beating Ella Dorfmueller 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Clinching the team victory for the Tigers was Franny Werner, who defeated Gwyneth Kibbey 6-1, 6-0 at number six.
Soon after, Lindsay Parks beat Aynne Aldrich 6-1, 6-0 at number three, followed by Alex Preston defeating Krista Manche 6-2, 6-0. DePauw swept Rose-Hulman after taking the remaining two matches of the evening. Kate Stanley defeated Ruby Kauffman 6-1, 6-0 at number four, followed by Ellen Gardner beating Taylor Goldman 6-3, 6-2 at number one.
