Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw shot 54.5 percent in the first half in building a 22-point halftime lead over Hiram on the way to a 77-44 North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Terriers. The 13th-ranked Tigers improved to 17-2 overall and 10-0 in the NCAC, while Hiram dropped to 6-13 overall and 2-9 in conference play.
The Tigers utilized an early 13-2 run to move a 4-4 tie to a 17-6 lead as the hosts took a 23-15 lead to the quarter break. Another 13-2 stretch to start the second quarter pushed the lead to 36-17 before DePauw led at halftime, 43-21.
Hiram was still within 20 at 50-30 with just over three minutes left in the third, but DePauw scored the final five points of the third and the first six of the fourth to push the margin to 31.
Maeve Summerville led DePauw with 15 points and Mya Shannon added 12, while Campbell Montgomery grabbed nine rebounds.
Haley Thompson paced Hiram with 10 points and Selena Vargas hauled down nine boards.
DePauw shot 44.3 percent for the game to Hiram's 32.7 percent and the Tigers, who lead the nation in rebound margin, outrebounded Hiram 50-23.
The Tigers host Allegheny at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
