#12/13 DePauw Clinches Fifth-Straight NCAC Title and Ninth in 10 Seasons

Hiram, Ohio - DePauw used a 22-0 run that spanned the first and second quarters to turn a one-point deficit into a 21-point lead on the way to a 71-41 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Hiram.

The Tigers, ranked 12th in the coaches' poll and 13th by D3hoops.com, improved to 20-2 overall and 13-0 in the NCAC. DePauw clinched its fifth-straight NCAC title and ninth in 10 seasons since beginning conference play in 2011-12. The Tigers are the second team to win five-straight NCAC titles since Allegheny did so from 1985-89, but the first to win five-straight outright championships. Hiram dropped to 7-16 overall and 3-12 in the conference.

After trailing 7-6 with 4:36 left in the opening quarter, the Tigers scored the final eight points of the first and the first 14 of the second to take a 28-7 lead with 5:27 left in the first half. Hiram closed the gap to 32-18 at the halftime intermission.

The Tigers extended the lead to 18 after three quarters and then sealed the win by opening the fourth with a 10-2 stretch.

Mya Shannon paced DePauw with 19 points, while Isabella Ogliore scored a career-high 14 and added 10 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double. Grace Kinsey added 12 points and Campbell Montgomery grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

Haley Thompson paced Hiram with 17 points, while Selena Vargas grabbed seven boards.

DePauw shot 42.9 percent from the field, including 52.2 percent over the final three quarters, and held the Terriers to just 26.0 percent. The Tigers also held a 55-23 rebounding edge.

The Tigers host Denison on Wednesday, February 16, at 6 p.m.
