Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw moved to 3-3 on the season and finished third at the Midwest Challenge following a 79-41 win over Rose-Hulman. The Fightin' Engineers dropped to 2-2 with the loss. Illinois Wesleyan won the title with a 67-52 victory over WashU in the championship game.
Rose-Hulman led in the opening two minutes, but the Tigers put together an 8-1 run to take the lead for good. DePauw scored the first 14 points of the second quarter to push the lead to 32-8 with 4:40 remaining in the first half. The Engineers got no closer than 20 the rest of the way.
Ava Hassel paced DePauw with 14 points and hit 4-of-6 3-pointers, while
Mya Shannon followed with 10.
Lyla Barr's seven rebounds helped DePauw to a 49-24 edge on the boards.
Lydia Stullken shared the DePauw lead with four assists and blocked three shots.
Riley Mont also dished out four assists.
Nola Wilson led Rose-Hulman with 13 points and Jamie Baum added 12.. Baum led the way with five rebounds and six steals.
DePauw shot 44.6 percent from the floor to Rose-Hulman's 26.5 percent and the Tigers hit 11-of-29 3-pointers.
The Tigers travel to Kenyon on Sunday, Dec. 4, for a 2p.m. North Coast Athletic Conference game.Â
