Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw moved to 8-10 overall and 2-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play after blanking visiting Wooster 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-17). The Fighting Scots dropped to 3-11 overall and 0-3 in the NCAC.
DePauw scored the first eight points of the first set and never trailed to take the early match lead. In a much tighter second set, DePauw trailed 22-21, but outscored Wooster 4-1 down the stretch with
Ashley Haas' ace propelling the Tigers to a 2-0 lead. The Tigers sealed the win by leading the entire third set.
DePauw outhit Wooster, .170-(-.010) and held a 32-22 lead in kills. The Tigers also led in team blocks, 7.0-1.0.
Olivia Karwin led the Tigers with 10 kills with
Avery Christy leading the way with 17 assists. Christy had four of the Tigers' 10 aces and led with 18 digs.
Lauren Ridgway paced the team with four blocks.
Hayley Nash led Wooster with eight kills with Tyara Thompson pacing the squad with 15 assists and Sydney Fitzcharles totaling 18 digs.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, October 15, with a 1 p.m. NCAC match at Ohio Wesleyan.
