Greencastle, Ind.: Dropping to 0-4-1 in NCAC play, the DePauw men's soccer team fell to the Little Giants of Wabash 1-0 at home.
In the opening minutes of play, the Little Giants pressured the Tigers' backline, forcing most of the game into DePauw's defensive end. That pressure paid off for Wabash in the eighth minute when the Little Giants' Caleb Castano shot a rocket just outside the box into the left corner of the Tiger's goal.
At the 15-minute mark, DePauw was awarded a penalty kick that would tie the game at one apiece; unfortunately, a diving save by Wabash's Soren Russell blocked
Sam Thiel's penalty kick attempt and kept the Little Giants up by a goal.
Despite tallying eight corners to the Little Giants' four, the Tigers were outshot 15-11 by Wabash.
In goal,
Alexander Lundin recorded nine saves, and Soren Russell had three saves in the net for the Little Giants.
The Tigers move to 5-6-4 overall and are is set to face Oberlin College on Saturday, October 22, at 2:30 p.m. at Reavis Stadium.
