Greencastle, Ind.- After its 7-0 victory over Oberlin College, the DePauw field hockey team extends its win streak to five games and remains undefeated in NCAC play while improving to 8-4 overall.
Â
DePauw scored early and often, with five different Tigers scoring throughout its dominant performance over Oberlin. In the seventh minute
Margaret Volpe, who settled a pass from
Hailey Nowak off a penalty corner pass, scored her first goal of the day and put DePauw up 1-0 early. Three minutes later,
Lilly Harris tallied her third goal off a rebounded shot giving DePauw a 2-0 lead.
Â
In the second period, Nowak got on the board following another corner penalty, this time taken by

Â
Up 3-0 at the start of the second half, DePauw kept the pressure on. Just 24 seconds into the third period, Harris slipped a pass to
Allison Quackenbush for her fifth goal of the season. The fifth and sixth goals of the game were just a minute apart, with Nowak scoring her second goal of the day from just inside the striking circle, followed by Volpe putting in her second goal off a rebound.
Â
The Tigers' final goal of the afternoon came in the 55th minute after a scramble in front of the cage led to
Amy Apfelbaum slipping a pass to
Jessica Faily, giving DePauw a seven-goal lead with just under five minutes left in regulation.
Â
