Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's soccer team fell to the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops 1-0 in its first NCAC loss of the season, moving to 6-3-3 overall.
Â
In the first half of play, the Tigers seemed to control the game's pace, keeping the play in its attacking half and outshooting the Battling Bishops 8 to 3.
Â
After a scoreless half, both teams returned to the field with energy; however, some mistimed passes in DePauw's midfield led to some dangerous looks for Ohio Wesleyan. The Battling Bishops finally found the back of the net in the 74th minute of a free kick by Tiffany Trinh.
Â
Down 1-0, the Tigers battled to get position in its attacking half but ran out of steam as time expired.
Â
Emma St. John completed the night with four saves, while the Battling Bishops' Natalie Ryan recorded one save for the night.
DePauw is back on the road this Saturday, October 15, to take on the Kenyon College Owls at 1 p.m.
