Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Stunned by Battling Bishops at Home

Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's soccer team fell to the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops 2-0, moving to 0-2-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference.

Despite putting up two looks on goal and pressuring the Battling Bishops backline early, the Tigers struggled to put the ball in Ohio Wesleyan's net.

In the 21st minute of play, Ohio Wesleyan's Justin Carro gathered a long cross up the right sideline, beat his defender, and eventually found teammate Christopher Guerra for the Battling Bishops' first goal of the night.

The Tigers would fight for position throughout the remainder of the half, putting up four shots to Ohio Wesleyans' five. However, in the second half, DePauw focused its efforts on fending off the Battling Bishops attack, resulting in Ohio Wesleyan outshooting the Tigers ten shots to two in the second half.

With just under 27 minutes left in regulation, a poorly cleared ball by the Tigers was possessed by Ohio Wesleyan's Will Harr, who took a couple of touches and ultimately found the back of DePauw's net to put the Battling Bishops up 2-0.

Alexander Lundin finished the night with six saves, while Ohio Wesleyan's Mason Taylor tallied three of his own.

DePauw moves to 5-4-4 overall and travels to Gambier, Ohio, to face the No. 3 Kenyon College Owls on Saturday, October 15, at 3:30 p.m.
