Gambier, Ohio - DePauw dropped to 7-9 overall and 1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 21-25, 15-8) loss at Kenyon. The Owls improved to 2-12 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Tigers won the opening set and held a 23-17 lead in the second, but Kenyon scored the final eight points to even the match, 1-1. The Owls took control of the third set early to take a 2-1 lead. DePauw battled back in the fourth from a 14-6 deficit and finished the set on an 8-2 run to even the match. Kenyon grabbed an early lead in the decisive fifth set, but DePauw put together a 4-0 run to take an 8-6 lead. The Owls, however, scored the final nine of the set to seal the match win.Â
Katie Gansle totaled 15 kills with
Jessica Levy following with 12, while
Avery Christy and
Kendall Herrick each totaling 20 assists. Christy,
Emma White and
Ashley Haas each had three of the Tigers' 12 service aces.
Grace Myers led the way with 17 digs, while Gansle,
Lauren Ridgway and
Olivia Karwin had three blocks apiece.
Lindsey Abramson led Kenyon with 14 kills with Maggie Wolf assisting 31 times. Macy Reimbold and Rebecca Gwynne each had three aces and Elizabeth Sonza totaled 19 digs. Paige Milhon had 11 blocks and Eras Yager nine.
Kenyon outhit DePauw .149-.133, while the Tigers held a 53-43 lead in kills. The Owls had 12 team blocks with the Tigers finishing with seven.
